This site : http//www.Pingpart.com
is dedicated to promote PPA as a new sport to be created
and raised to a high competitive level of skills and technics.
For that purpose this site is built with different pages (written in French). Each page deals with one specific aspect involved in the PPA promotion.
Let us explain you, below, what is the matter of the different pages, the list of which appears, as a menu, present in each page of the web site.
Accueil / Welcome presents the PPA as a game derived from the TT (Table Tennis, or Ping-Pong sport) by:
- the modification ( through addition or subtraction) of some rules,
- the use of some accessory articles.
The aim is to practice that new game by bringing to the classical Ping-Pong sport additional artistic movements able to turn the classical competitive game to a genuine artistic competitive sport.
Such evolution in sport games towards artistic practice has already happened in other sports such as: Gymnastics by the creation of the “GR” ( Rythmic Gymnastics); “Acrobatic ski” derived from Ski; “Windsurf” derived from Sailing; “Artistic skating
and Dance skating on ice”, derived from mere Skating, and so on…
Nous contacter / Contact us: is a page which gives our Post and e-mail addresses, as well as our telephone and fax numbers.
We be happy to answer in French and English any of your questions about PPA activity.
Le PPA c’est
quoi? / What is PPA? : explains how the PPA
keeps some parts of the TT game, and how it differentiates
from the latter. Those explanations are more detailed
in the page named: Règles du PPA / PPA rules.
Règles
du PPA / PPA rules: What differenciates fundamentally
PPA from TT games results from the facts that :
- In a TT competitive match
with 2 players, those 2 players are opponents to each
other, and the winner will be automatically selected
towards the final classification of the competition. Therefore
only refrees are required to cooperate with the players
in the TT game performance.
- On the opposite in a PPA match,
the 2 players are the parteners in the same pair of
players, which has to perform a "PPA show, fitted
to the rules of its category", during the time
of each "set". In a standard "set"
the ball which is qualified as the "nominal TT
ball", must be kept continuously flying all the
time duration of the set. A full match, for the same
pair of players, may gather 3 or 5 sets, the duration
of each set, being 20 to 60 seconds.
Therefore the selection for the final classification
will consist of the choice, among all the pairs of players,
by a jury of experts in Ping-Pong games and artistic
shows. It is quite similar to what does exist for the
"GR", Rythmic Gymnastics, or the Ice Skating,
or other competitive games of that type.
Three style categories may be played with in PPA.
For the first
two of them, the relationship with the TT practice is the use of :
- a classical TT table
- standard TT rackets
- at least, one standard TT ball
What is specific to each style category of the PPA is indicated as below:
1st category:PPA-TT:
All the rules of the TT game have to
be respected by the players. Nevertheless, they may
insert into their performance, any artistic, or acrobatic
movement of their choice.
2nd category:PPA-FA: In
addition to the required standard TT table, rackets
and nominal ball, the PPA players may use any other
Accessories and perform any artistique
exhibition Figure of their choice.
They may also appeal to assistants.
3rd category:PPA-L: (L
for Liberty), in which not any rules
or standard parts are required. The only requirement,
during the time duration of a match(3-5 mn), is to evocate,
by real or virtual means, the practice of the Ping-Pong
game, through an artistic performance.
Nota: Let us remind that the
PPA,(which is to-day a " just born baby" sport,
which has to grow and give evidence of its performing
value). Its rules will evolve and, actually, be defined
definitely thanks to the contribution of the first PPA
competitors through discussions with the EC-PPA team,
the aim of which was to create this site to design and
launch the promotion of the PPA sport.
